Hold On Pain Ends
People vanish, taken by war, and leave behind a void.
And I, who never wanted any of this, become an astronaut. Drifting through human shaped gaps, exploring the wreckage of distant worlds and the reasons they were destroyed.
This project started in 2021. It’s full of narratives and stories, but they all share one thing: the feeling of the invisible void left by trauma. As us in Israeli society, we know it very well. We all felt it.
This collection was photographed in an abandoned boarding school, a shelter for children, in Hod HaSharon. The ghosts seen in the images are semi-transparent silhouettes, showing behind them only the ruins that remain. They represent a transparent feeling shared by many on the fringes of society, cast aside by the mainstream.
Sadly, what unites us so often is this trauma, shared pain, and a common enemy. We all carry this pain inside us. and This pain is not going away. I wish we could find another way to come together…
Some prayers do not get answered. They stay burning inside until they turn into something stronger, sadder, until grief changes its shape and becomes strength, power, and something impossible to ignore and hold back
